Crested Serpentine Eagle
(Spilornis cheela)
On the evening of March 30, 2024, as me, Raminder Singh and Pritish traversed through Pakki Patri in Zone 2 of Mahof Range within the PTR, a magnificent sight greeted us: a regal and fearless serpentine eagle perched nonchalantly on the V-shaped crevice of a tree trunk beside the road.
Captivated by its majestic presence, we couldn't help but marvel at the elegance and grace of this magnificent raptor. In that fleeting moment, amidst the lush surroundings of the reserve, we were reminded of the importance of preserving such habitats for the countless species that call it home.
As wildlife photographers and environmentalists, encounters like these reaffirm our commitment to conservation efforts. Each sighting serves as a poignant reminder of the delicate balance between human activities and the natural world, urging us to protect and cherish these precious ecosystems for generations to come.
