My dear friends,
As we all know that the Bees are one of the hardest working creatures on the planet, and it is their laborious work ethic, that we should thank these amazing yet often under appreciated insect.
Human lives – and the world as a whole – would be a much different place if bees didn’t exist. Just consider these numbers: bees are responsible for pollinating about one-sixth of the flowering plant species worldwide and approximately 400 different agricultural types of plant.
Honeybees and the other pollinators and the invaluable pollinating services they provide us with helped produce approximately INR 12 thousand Crore worth of agricultural crops in the U.S. alone in 2010; that’s estimated to be one-third of everything we eat! To say we rely on the pollination efforts of bees (and other animals) to sustain our modern food system is a gross understatement.
I see Honeybees as the very reason of human existence on this planet and respect them for just being there and doing their work.
What about you, friends?
I had just got the Macro lens, and when I was trying to click this picture, I wanted to capture the hexagon lenses of its eyes.
