Nestled amidst the wilderness of the Dhikala Zone in Corbett National Park, I was staying at the tranquil Khinanauli FRH, surrounded by the symphony of nature with a group of my friends viz seasoned wildlifers Sunil Sharma & Umesh Agarwal, very experienced Sh. Y. K Sahu, IFS (Retd.), My Childhood friend and photography enthusiast Vishal Verma, Rajeev Dhingra a thorough gentleman, Rajinder Singh, and my two very dear colleagues Raminder Singh, IRS and Prem Chand Sharma who are both accomplished photographers and die-hard wildlife enthusiasts and environmentalists.

The advantage of our location became evident as I prepared for an afternoon jungle safari, setting out early to reach the Kanda Road track of the Paar region.

As the safari progressed along the rugged tracks, anticipation brewed in the air. Suddenly, amidst the verdant foliage, a sight both breath-taking and awe-inspiring unfolded before my eyes. There, in the midst of the track near Tiraha of Kanda Road, lay 'Chhoti Paro', undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tigress, resting with serene composure.

Despite the persistent disturbance of flies and other elements of the wild, 'Chhoti Paro' remained undisturbed, exuding an aura of regal tranquillity. Lying gracefully on her side, she opened her eyes, piercing through the lens of my camera with a gaze that seemed to penetrate the very soul.

In that fleeting moment, an electric surge of excitement coursed through me, a thrill of being in the presence of such majestic splendour. It was a connection forged between observer and observed, capturing the essence of the untamed beauty that thrives within Corbett's lush embrace.
