This huge Tusker at Dhikala Grass land, walked almost directly to us. When it was closer, and I saw through the Camera lens, I saw that this elephant is discharging a thick tar-like secretion called temporin from the temporal ducts on the sides of the head. This was a 'Mast' or 'Makhna' Elephant bull. Though the secretion seemed to have ebbed sometime ago, but the Bull elephant seemed to be aggressive enough to be dangerous.

I asked my driver to keep the engine running and be ready to speed off in case this elephant bull decides to test our preparedness. The incident of chase by a female elephant in December, 2014 on Sambhar Road was fresh on my mind. Luckily for us, the Bull elephant decided to play it cool and walked coolly to the other side of the track from very close range.
