My first trip to Kabini and Nagarhole Tiger Reserve in Karnataka today was an unforgettable journey into the heart of the wild. During my first safari, as the sun began its descent, casting a purplish golden hue over the lush landscape, the air was filled with the symphony of nature. The excitement was palpable as our safari vehicle ventured deeper into the dense forest, the promise of an encounter with the elusive wildlife keeping us on edge.

Then, in the fading light of the evening, we saw it under the dense trees —a beautiful and graceful leopard, perched elegantly on a tree stump. The leopard’s sleek, spotted coat glowed with a magical radiance in the golden light, blending seamlessly with the surrounding foliage. It sat there, poised and serene, scratching its chin and neck with the left hind paw. Time seemed to stand still as we watched this magnificent creature, its presence a silent testament to the raw beauty of nature. This mesmerizing sighting was the highlight of my journey, leaving me with a profound sense of awe and a deep appreciation for the wild wonders of Kabini and Nagarhole.
