As I located the magnificent animal on th early morning of 30th March 2024, I found myself facing a captivating sight: a sub-adult male tiger, sitting submerged in a canal on the opposite bank. The scene was picturesque, it was S-3 Male Tiger of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve lovingly called Kulhadiram due to a small spot resembling an Axe, just above its right eye.

As the early morning sun gently diffused its light over the arcadian gentle stream of Sharda Canal at Mahof Range, Pilibhit Tiger Range in Uttar Pradesh, India. As soon as our Gypsy vehicle entered Pakki Patri in Zone 2 and we had barely moved 250 meters. Our guide Mr. Rajiv Srivastava pointed to the other side of the canal on our right and said just one word “Tiger”. It was difficult to locate the grand animal sitting in shade and submerged in water, from across the stream. When I located the magnificent animal, I found myself facing a captivating sight: a sub-adult male tiger, sitting submerged in a canal on the opposite bank. The scene was picturesque, but the challenge lay in capturing its magnificence through my lens.
The insufficient light, shadows and a gentle flowing stream coupled with the considerable distance between us, posed a significant difficulty in capturing the grandeur of the scene. With each click, the camera struggled to capture the details amidst the subtle play of shadows and the tiger's sleek fur. Yet, despite these challenges, the tiger's piercing gaze locked onto mine, adding an intense allure to the photograph.
In that moment, amidst the serenity of the morning and the raw power of nature, I succeeded to freeze time and encapsulate the majestic beauty of the sub-adult male tiger in a single, magnificent picture.
