Stripe-necked Mongoose (Urva vitticolla)
During my thrilling adventure in Kabini National Park, I had the rare pleasure of sighting a stripe-necked mongoose (Urva vitticolla). The mongoose, with its distinctive stripes running down its neck, emerged from the underbrush, moving with a mix of curiosity and caution. As it paused momentarily, our eyes met, and I seized the opportunity to capture this unique moment.
With my camera ready, I clicked the photo just as the mongoose looked directly into the lens. Its sharp, inquisitive eyes seemed to tell a story of the wild, a glimpse into the secretive life of this elusive creature. The photograph captured not just the mongoose’s striking features, but also the essence of that fleeting connection between human and wildlife. This unexpected encounter and the perfect shot made my journey in Kabini even more memorable, a testament to the park’s incredible biodiversity and the wonders it holds.
