In April, 2014, one day early morning, me, Ajit Singh and Nischal Goel were goingfrom Sarpduli FRH towards Debaria Chaud near Gairal FRH, with expectation that we might be lucky to see a tiger from the mother and cub family being sighted these days at that place. On the way, as we crossed the Crocodile point and started descending to come down, Nischalji heard the Alarm call of spotted deer. He signaled us about the call and we asked Mr. Sonu (Our guide and Driver) to rush down to the track near the river bed as the call was coming apparently from that place.
As we reached the track at level with river bed, we were looking around for the reason of alarm calls by deer. Nischalji spotted the deer about 700 - 800 mts away from us in the river bed on our left where the river was taking a curve. Almost simultaneously, Ajit Singh ji excitedly pointed out that a Tiger was walking on the far side of river bed a little away from the deer. It appeared well fed and was not even looking towards the deer.
We took some clicks from there and as the tiger was walking away from us, we asked Mr. Sonu to drive us back up to the Crocodile point. He rushed us there and we saw this majestic animal walking proudly on the far side of the river. The whole time, Nischalji was shooting a video while I & Ajit Singh were clicking still pictures.
As always it was a very exciting moment to have spotted a tiger, though very far off and being able to click some passable pictures. These pictures have been shot from a distance of more than 700 mts, of an animal which was walking in shade, so the clarity and detailing in picture is lacking. But the experience and thrill is still fresh as I type these words.
