From the Archives: The Huge Elephant:

On 31st March, 2015, as we started from the Sarpduli Forest Rest House, JCNP, India to come out of the national Park, On the main road, near Gorkha Sot, this huge male tusker was blocking the road. Our Guide friend Danish, stopped the vehicle a good distance away from where this tusker was standing and breaking tree branches, swaying to n fro in excitement..
I picked up my camera with 24-70 mm mounted on it and calmly started clicking the Huge pachyderm.
Raminder Singh, Prem Sharma and me were very quite communicating in whispers and gestures so as not to disturb the large bundle of power and energy. We all were enjoying the clicking when all of a sudden, the huge bundle of muscles turned and ran towards our vehicle. Ever alert and vigilant Danish Malik reversed the vehicle immediately and went back. The Elephant who was excited mock charged us for about 50 yards and then topped. It took us more than 25 minutes waiting for this beauty to walk downhill on the side of the road before we could drive further.
