During our stay at Gairal FRH at CTR in Jan 2015, during the break from Safari, we were at the FRH when we saw this beautiful Blue Throated Barbet (Megalaima asiatica) hopping on the peepal tree (Ficus religiosa) and eating small fruits from the tree. Its always a delight to see and observe these beautiful and agile birds.
The barbets get their name from the bristles which fringe their heavy bills; this species eats fruits and insects.
